This is the best solution for anybody requiring a rich user interface ( UI ) over thin client ( such as Internet Explorer browser ). Its based on .net framework and requires client machine to have microsoft .net framework installed. SmartClient are developed using .net technologies. The design is based on SOA ( Service oriented architecture ). Its normally accessed by web url. Once the url is accessed .net assemblies are called and loaded on client machine. It provides rich windows based interface. Since there is a limitation on the platform it can run, its best suited for closed group usage such as intranet. There is limitation on dynamicity that can be generated using html code so in such cases smartclient can be an excellent option.
